Polybuzz Review 2026: Is It Free? Rules and Alternatives

Polybuzz is a chat platform with characters created by AI or by the community: anime heroes, TV characters, celebrities, historical figures, or original creations. You pick a character from a catalog sorted by theme (anime, romance, fantasy, RPG, horror…), then chat with it by text or with a synthetic voice.

The publisher is Cloud Whale Interactive Technology LLC. Its terms of use give a mailing address at 300 Delaware Avenue, Wilmington (Delaware, United States) for copyright notices. The app is on Google Play (listing “PolyBuzz - Talk to AI Character,” with more than 50 million downloads shown on September 30, 2026) and on the App Store.

Important point: Polybuzz is a mainstream roleplay tool, not an AI girlfriend app. There’s no realistic companion creator and no on-demand gallery of generated photos like the services in our comparison. On the web, the menu does still offer an image generator and a character creator.

English plus many others. On September 30, 2026, the web version showed localized menus, categories, and descriptions (for example “Discover,” “Create a character,” “Subscribe”). The App Store listing shows English and 27 other languages, and the Google Play listing is localized too.

There are three levels to tell apart:

• The interface: translated, easy to use in any supported language.
• The characters: they’re created by users, often in English. Some descriptions are machine-translated, with phrasing that’s sometimes rough.
• Legal documents: the terms of use and privacy policy are published in English.

The model generally replies in the language you use, but Polybuzz makes no guarantee about quality in other languages. If language is your main criterion, our pick of the best multilingual AI girlfriends only includes services whose interface is genuinely translated.

Basic chat is free, but Polybuzz also sells subscriptions and virtual currencies. The Google Play listing mentions “free conversations” and in-app purchases. The privacy policy even states that a non-registered visitor can use the chat “with limitations.”

What you pay for, according to the terms of use (section 9):

• Premium services: monthly subscriptions “with multiple service tiers” that give “more quota and features.” They renew automatically until canceled.
• Virtual currencies: the terms mention “Coins.” The site menu also showed “Opals” on September 30, 2026.

Exact prices aren’t published in the terms, which point to the in-app purchase page. On September 30, 2026, the site showed a promotion of “up to 83% off,” but we couldn’t find a verifiable public price. So we’d rather not quote any. The terms also state that no refund is granted for a completed purchase “without valid reason.”

Polybuzz bans explicit sexual content. Section 8.2 of its terms of use (updated May 18, 2026) prohibits any content that “depicts pornography or sexual acts (including intercourse, masturbation, and sexual nudity) or solicits sexual content or activity.” It sets zero tolerance for any form of child exploitation.

Paradoxically, the service is for adults only:

• The terms require users to be at least 18 and ask for a date of birth on first use.
• The App Store rates the app 18+, while Google Play showed a 17+ rating on September 30, 2026.
• If there’s doubt about age, an account can be suspended until the user proves they’re an adult.

So Polybuzz accepts romance and dramatic scenarios, but not explicit adult content. Violations can lead to removal of the content or the account. According to its privacy policy (updated December 23, 2025), Polybuzz collects a lot of data and uses some of it to train its AI. The list of information that “may be collected” includes:

• email address, username, text you type, and images you upload;
• purchase and payment history;
• device information and technical logs;
• precise location and contacts, through app permissions.

The document states that precise location and uploaded photos are used, among other things, to “train our AI algorithm.” The terms also allow the company to store and analyze the content you send. On the other hand, the policy says Polybuzz doesn’t sell personal data and includes a GDPR section for European users.

You can delete your account under Settings, then Account, then Delete. Backups aren’t necessarily erased right away, and data may be processed outside your country. We haven’t tested Polybuzz and don’t give it a score. Here’s a review based solely on its official documents.

Documented strengths: free basic chat, web interface in many languages, huge community catalog, apps on iOS and Android, synthetic voices for characters.

Documented limits: no explicit adult content, subscription prices not public outside the app, multiple virtual currencies, extensive data collection, very restricted refunds.

Polybuzz is a good fit if you want to play out scenarios with fictional characters, for free and without adult content. If you want an AI companion who keeps track of your relationship, sends photos, and allows 18+ content, look elsewhere.
