Promptchan review 2026: price, languages, and is it worth it?

Promptchan is an AI creative platform for adults: you describe a scene, and it generates an image or video in a realistic or anime style. It also offers chat with female and male AI companions, with roleplay and requests for photos or videos based on your shared story. The site claims more than 11 million users.

The publisher is VisionAI Labs Limited, with a registered address in Dublin, Ireland. Its terms are governed by Irish law and restrict the service to users aged 18 and over. In our comparison, Promptchan is labelled “Image creator”: it focuses more on visual generation than the other apps, which primarily offer conversation.

Promptchan combines image generation, video, chat and voice. According to its official site, checked on October 5, 2026:

• Image generator: create realistic, anime or fantasy images from text, with a library of poses and styles.
• Tweak: edit an existing image by describing a new outfit, setting or lighting while keeping the same character.
• AI video: animate an image or start from text, add dialogue and sound, then lengthen the scene with Extend. Full video features require the Pro subscription.
• AI companion chat: roleplay, photo and video requests, voice messages (1 Gem) and voice calls (2 Gems, Pro subscription required).
• Community gallery: reuse the settings from a public creation with Clone to make your own version.

Promptchan does not highlight long-term chat memory. If an ongoing relationship matters more to you than images, see our comparison of AI girlfriend apps with memory.

Promptchan lists its prices publicly, with no sign-up required. These prices were recorded on its subscription page on October 5, 2026:

Gems are the credits used for each generation. Subscribers can buy additional Gems at half price. Full video features and voice calls require Pro. Promptchan accepts refund requests within 30 days of payment, provided you have not made significant use of its services. Cryptocurrency payments are non-refundable. See the current offer on our Promptchan promo code page.

Promptchan is available in English. On October 5, 2026, it also offered homepages in French (promptchan.com/fr), German, Spanish and Italian. Its legal pages (terms, refunds and privacy) are written in English, and only the English version is legally authoritative. We have not verified language support throughout the logged-in app.

Candy AI and Secrets AI also offer English versions. If you want to chat in another language, see our guide to multilingual AI girlfriend apps.

On October 5, 2026, Promptchan had a Trustpilot rating of 4.4/5 from 208 reviews (69% five-star and 8% one-star). Treat that figure cautiously: the profile is unclaimed, many positive reviews contain just a few words, and several reviewers say the platform rewards users for leaving a review as a “task”. The score may therefore be a poor reflection of the actual experience.

Detailed reviews praise ease of use and image and video quality. Criticism, particularly in 2026, focuses on bugs and crashes, limited support, difficulty interpreting long prompts and losing most features when a subscription ends. Our advice: try the free Gems before paying, and start with one month before making a longer commitment.

Promptchan is aimed at adults who mainly want to create images and videos of their character, with conversation as an extra. To help you decide:

• A good fit if: you care more about visual creation (images, edits and video) than chat, want clear pricing and enjoy building on community creations.
• A poor fit if: you want an ongoing relationship with memory, need a verified interface in another language or want video without paying for the most expensive plan.

A positive point: the publisher is identified and based in the European Union (Ireland), and prices are public. Our AI girlfriend privacy guide covers what to check before signing up.
